Participating in the Animal Crossing: New Leaf: Welcome a Friend Promotion is easy! If you already have or intend to purchase Animal Crossing: New Leaf and would like to send a Recommendation Code to a friend so he or she can download the game for free, please start at Step 1. If you want to receive or have already received a Recommendation Code from a friend, please start at Step 4.
The Donor
The first participant of the promotion (the “Donor”) can receive the Recommendation Code to share with the second participant of the promotion (the “Friend”) as follows:
Step 1
The Donor must register the game Animal Crossing: New Leaf (the “Game”) in Club Nintendo at club.nintendo.com.au by 11:59pm (AEST) on 15th September 2013.
IMPORTANT: For the registration of a download version of the Game, the respective Nintendo eShop account of the Nintendo 3DS system must have been linked with a Club Nintendo account prior to the download of the Game from Nintendo eShop. Please allow 24 hours between linking your Club Nintendo account and downloading games via Nintendo eShop.
For download versions, the registration survey within Club Nintendo must be completed by 11:59pm (AEST) on 15th September 2013 for the download version of the Game to count toward this promotion. Please also note that the download version of the Game downloaded from Nintendo eShop cannot be registered if the Nintendo 3DS system used to download them is not first linked to a Club Nintendo account. Step 2
Upon completing the registration the Donor will be given an opportunity to request the Recommendation Code. Following the request the Recommendation Code will be sent to the Donor via email to the email address registered in the Donor’s Club Nintendo account. The Recommendation Code will also be available after log in in the My Account sectionof the Club Nintendo website. (Donors who have completed the registration prior to 15th August 2013 must log in to their Club Nintendo account after this date to request the Recommendation Code.)
Step 3
The Donor can give the Recommendation Code to the Friend to enable the latter to receive a free Download Code for the Game.
The Friend
The Friend can use the Recommendation Code to receive a free Download Code for the Game as follows:
Step 4
The Friend must register a Nintendo 3DS XL system in Club Nintendo at club.nintendo.com.au between 12:01am (AEST) on 15th August 2013 and 11:59pm (AEDT) on 15th October 2013.
Step 5
Upon completing the registration, the Friend will be given until 11:59pm (AEDT) on 15th October 2013 for the opportunity to request the Download Code for the Game by entering the Recommendation Code. Following the request the Download Code will be sent to the Friend via email to the email address registered in the Friend’s Club Nintendo account. The Download Code will also be available after login in the My Account sectionof the Club Nintendo website.
Step 6
The Download Code can be used to download the Game from Nintendo eShop to the Friend's Nintendo 3DS system. The Download Code expires at 11:59pm (AEDT) on 10th December 2013.

How to download your free game
When you've received your free Download Code, head to Nintendo eShop to redeem it. Just follow these simple instructions:
Step 1
Ensure that your Nintendo 3DS system is connected to the Internet. For more information on how to connect your Nintendo 3DS system to the Internet, see our Nintendo 3DS Supportpage.
(Wireless broadband Internet service required. Acceptance of the Nintendo 3DS Service User Agreement and Privacy Policy required)
Step 2
Animal Crossing Nintendo Shop
On the HOME Menu of your Nintendo 3DS system, select the Nintendo eShop icon to launch Nintendo eShop. For more information, see our Nintendo eShoppage.
Step 3
Scroll to the far left of Nintendo eShop and select 'Settings/Other', then tap 'Redeem Download Code' – enter your free download code in the box displayed and select 'OK'.
Follow the on-screen instructions and select 'Download' to start the download process – you can then choose to download the game immediately or download it while your Nintendo 3DS system is in Sleep Mode. Whichever method you choose, however, please note that your Nintendo 3DS system will need to be connected to the Internet for the duration of the download.
